Tell anyone you own an airplane and they will automatically think about the great things you can do as a pilot. However, owning an aircraft is not always about pleasure. You will need to track annual inspections and oil changes, address issues (we call them squawks), and manage licenses, hangar and insurance fees, etc.
As a professional designer and amateur developer, a few years ago I started learning Flutter and coding an app to help me track deadlines and notify me when things needed to be done. I had it working (partially) on my phone but the many issues I had with my previous plane made me disconnect with the app development.
Fast forward to this year, I tried to use it again but, Flutter had changed a lot and my original code did not work anymore. As I never became fluent in the platform, I decided to try its variant Flutterflow, a more visual way to code using Flutter in the background.
Please meet coFlier, the aircraft companion app that keeps aircraft owners aware of all things related to their planes. You can track deadlines, cost of ownership, keep logbook entries, and so on. If you are also a pilot, coFlier will remind you as well about flight reviews and medical appointments.
The app is still under “polishing development” although it is already fully functional with some of the features including:
Ownships
Add your aircraft(s) data and they will be ready for task, flight, and logbook entries.
Tasks
Create and manage tasks including inspections, oil changes, general services (for example, installing a gadget or fixing brakes), hangar fees, fuel, and other (annual insurance and or database purchase, to name a few).
Logbooks
Every task completed and categorized as inspection and service is automatically entered in the logbooks.
Flights
coFlier also helps track flight logs of the aircraft.
